In 2003 Hem Genetics introduced a unique, non-stretching type in dwarf Petunia grandiflora: Limbo. The naturally dwarf plant habit and long shelf life of Limbo proved to be of great value to both growers, retailers and consumers, who understood the step forward they could make in environmentally conscious growing and gardening.
Today Limbo is still the only genetically non-stretching hybrid in grandiflora Petunia on the market!
There are several tempting reasons to grow and sell Petunia Limbo. Of course Petunia Limbo has the outstanding plant habit you expect from an F1 hybrid Petunia. Moreover, there is the great advantage of the naturally dwarf plant habit: you do not have to use chemical plant growth regulators like Alar/B-nine or Bonzi anymore. And thus protecting your environment, you save time, money and effort. For Petunia growth regulators are history!
The early flowering, naturally dwarf Limbo series combines huge flowers with a unique genetically dwarf plant habit. Flower size is 8-12 cm (3-5 in.). Plant height is 15-20 cm (6-8 in.). This makes the Limbo series ideal both for pot and high density culture. Where all other petunias are stretching, with or without the use of growth regulators, Limbo refuses to do so! In the garden Limbo will not get leggy. On the contrary, it will develop and keep a nice, round shape, well-branched and covered with flowers throughout the season.
The unique naturally dwarf concept and the outstanding garden performance impressed the jury of both the
All American Selections and Fleuroselect: they both bestowed their award on Limbo violet.
